To revitalise, protect and promote Art, Craft and Cultural Heritage.

To recognise and promote traditional and contemporary art and art pieces.

To promote the traditional arts and crafts and to ensure their authenticity and identity.

To protect, promote, conserve, preserve and revitalise all form/type of art, craft and cultural activities including visual and performing art.

To undertake, plan, manage and implement the activities regarding protection, promotion, conservation, preservation and revitalisation of art work, paintings, sculptures, artistic and handicraft work on wood, metal, paper and all other type of media and forms.

Networking at local, block, district, division, state, national and international level among the artists, craftsmen and support organisations, individuals, groups, associations, Trusts, NGOs and Governmental organisations.

Networking for promotion of Art and Cultural Heritage.

To identify, search, collect, store, preserve, conserve, document, distribute, exhibit, exchange, sell, purchase, processing, packaging and marketing of art and craft products, items and material.

To collect, store, distribute, exchange, processing, packaging and marketing of raw semi-finished and finished handicraft work/items, art work, art pieces and material.

To create a suitable forum for the exchange of ideas and techniques and to undertake, organise and facilitate study courses, workshops, conferences and lectures in matters relating to conservation of natural and cultural property and resources.

To stimulate research in matters of conservation.

To setup and maintain libraries and information services to facilitate the object of the Trust.

To constitute and cause to be constituted branches of the Trust at convenient centres in India and abroad.

To undertake promotional activities.

To create and stimulate an awareness among the public for the preservation of the art, cultural and natural resources and heritage of India and respect and knowledge of past experience and skills.

To undertake measures for the preservation and conservation of art, craft, natural resources and cultural property.
To undertake documentation of cultural and natural heritage.


To extend and strengthen co-operation with professional, regional, national, international organisations, associations, networks, government and semi government bodies.

To undertake, run and manage conservation, restoration and preservation projects related to art, craft, manuscripts, old and contemporary paintings, traditional paintings including but not limited to mural paintings, old tempera paintings, wall paintings, Sketches, handicraft items, statues, museums, and all kind of cultural heritage.

To conduct, organise and stimulate seminars, trainings, workshops and studies in Curative Conservation correct storage and maintenance of heritage objects and protection to create awareness on preservation of art, craft and cultural property and the importance of conservation.

To organise regular lecture and performances as part of spreading heritage awareness among different sections of the society.

To undertake and stimulate research on problems of conservation in an Indian environment, and finding alternative materials available locally in India and reduce the cost of restoration.

To organise exhibitions related to the preservation of cultural heritage.

To provide consultancy museums, corporate and private collectors on the storage and preservation of art, craft and heritage materials, the treatment required and other issues related to conservation of objects.

To undertake surveys, documentation of the collections of art peices, paintings, craft items, statues and manuscripts; and educate the custodians and /or owners of such collections in the correct method of their proper upkeep, preventive conservation and minor curative conservation.

To plan, design, setup, develop, establish, run, maintain and manage art galleries, art and/or craft centres, museums, conservation and protection centres and promotional projects regarding artistic, aesthetic and technical knowledge, practices, skills, methods of cultural heritage, art, life style and traditions.

To sensitise the public about the pluralistic cultural legacy of India.

To instil a sense of social responsibility towards preserving art and our common heritage.

To protect and conserve the natural, built, and living heritage by undertaking necessary actions and measures.

To purchase and sell the art pieces, paintings, sculptures, handicraft items, handloom items and products of artisans, craftsman, artists. To market and support in marketing of the above mentioned and other products related to art and culture.

To document unprotected buildings of archaeological, architectural, historical, and aesthetic significance; and cultural resources; as it is the first step towards formulating conservation plans.

To develop heritage policy and regulations, and make legal interventions to protect our heritage, when necessary.

To provide expertise in the field of conservation, restoration and preservation of specific works of art; and to encourage capacity building by developing skills through training programmes.

To undertake emergency response measures during natural or manmade disasters, and to support local administration wherever heritage is threatened.

To foster collaborations, MOUs and partnerships with government and other national and international agencies.

To generate sponsorships for conservation and educational projects.

To undertake the development of crafts centres and skill development programmes for revival of old and traditional arts and crafts.

To support and assist conservationists and avail equipment for documentation, scientific conservation and restoration of works of art on paper, canvas, glass, ceramics, manuscripts and historical documents, textiles, photographs, historical heritage, museums and private collections.

To evolve in the role to preserve and promote India’s living heritage through preserving cultures, reviving traditional crafts, promoting heritage tourism, facilitating heritage festivals, organising lectures and performances on our living heritage.

To spread awareness through setting up heritage clubs and heritage societies in educational institutions.

To render, establish and provide awards, fellowships, grants, scholarships and prizes in cash, kind or any other forms to artists, artisans, craftsman, sculptures, organizations and other such persons, organisations, institutions, museums, art galleries engaged in promotion of art, culture and literature.

To develop and establish resources for art, culture and heritage education.

To initiate and ensure Conservation of cultural heritage by documenting the cultural geography and traditional lifestyles of communities.

To develop and design educational material on art, culture and heritage awareness including worksheets, handy guides, books, manuals heritage maps, CDs and websites.

To makes legal interventions through Public Interest Litigations when to conserve and protect the art and heritage of the country.

To renders services to specific aspects of art and cultural heritage conservation initiatives like architectural heritage including havelis, buildings, structures, palaces etc., natural heritage, material heritage / art conservation, living / cultural heritage, art, culture and heritage education and communication and heritage regulations.

To establish networks and forums at local, state, national and international level for artists, artisans, weavers and support them to integrate so that they can share and update their skills, knowledge, practices, methods and their experiences.

To organise, train, facilitate and support Artists, Artisans and Craftsmen communities and groups.

To promote, establish, support, maintain or grant aid to institutions for the promotion of science and technology, literature, music, drama and fine arts, for the preservation of historical monuments and for the research and other institutions in India, having similar objects for the benefit of the public in general.

To promote handicrafts, cottage industries and self employment activities.

To create rural employment by helping and supporting artists, artisans and craftsman.

To provide assistance to the traditional artists and to work towards the improvement of the lives of the artists.
