Vishwanath Pratap Singh, a poet, a painter,a photographer, a politician, a former PrimeMinister of India, was born in Allahabad. (U.P.) in the Daiya family. He was adopted by Raja Bahadur Ram Gopal Singh Ji of Manda. He was educated at Allahabad and Pune University. He married Sita Kumari from Deogarh (Rajasthan). he has two sons, Ajeya Singh and Abhai Singh. He founded the Gopal Vidhyalaya Intermediate College in Koraon in Allahabad district. He participated in the 1957 Bhoodan Andolan led by Acharya Vinoba Bhave and donated his land in Pasana Village to the landless. He started his political career as an M.L.A, became Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, then Minister of Finance, Commerce,Defence Minister and finally the 7th Prime Minister of India. Now, He spends his whole time in poetry, painting and social worker.
